I would just like to say that this is an honest review, I don't work for Scivation. I have reviewed many other products other than this on BN so I am not on the whole "Xtend is the best thing in the world" bandwagon. I have been using this in conjuction with a hypocaloric, low carbohydrate diet. I will break down the pros and cons so you can judge if this is for you.
Pros:
-The watermelon flavor is delicious and refreshing, tastes like a jolly rancher candy.
-Enhances strength and muscle mass - Even on a diet, my size and strength have gone up a bit, nothing tremendous. Amplifies the pump of NO products (Energized Xpand, Fast Twitch, Shock Therapy, etc.).
-Enhances fat loss - the BCAA's seem to speed up fat loss (note: I am also using GA technologies Jet Fuel, another great product)
-Eliminates soreness and fatigue
Cons:
- At a bodyweight of over 200 lbs., you will find that you need to take 6-10 scoops a day to get the above desired effects, there are 180 scoops in the jug so you will need to plan ahead how to space the servings. I drink 8 scoops throughout the day in a gallon jug of water with most of it pre and post workout.
- The cost of this supplement is quite a bit. Most protein powders don't even cost this much. If you megadose this stuff (15+ scoops a day), get ready to shell out a whole load of cash to maintain this in your supplement regimen.
- It doesn't always mix well. It mixes better in a shaker, but if you put it in a gallon jug and try to stir it, it still mixes but forms little crystals everywhere which stick to the sides.
Overall: Xtend is a great product which is especially effective for dieting and cutting. The flavor is great and it delivers good results if you use enough of it. Cost and mixability is an issue, but it you have the money, it is a worthwhile addition to your stack. |
