I've taken piracetam before, and found I had to take at least 4.5 grams to get any effect.
Aniracetam appears much more potent, and I get strong effects at approximately 1.5 grams. However, the effects are subtle. I tend to remember things I normally would forget, and I find it much easier to study on aniracetam. I seem to get more accomplished, primarily because thought "occur" to me with more frequency. (ie. "Oh yeah, the quiz is due tonight", "Oh crap, I was going to go to the store and get bread", "Ah , group project due at midnight, better get on it", etc)
I've also noticed the effects become more pronounced if you take it every day. I would recommend this to increase your ability to learn and remember things. However, if you are looking for a speed-like stimulent compound, then this is definitely not for you. Aniracetam provides almost a relaxing kind of clarity.
