Phenibut.
I received my Phenibut product a while ago. Gave it a reasonable period to try it out. At first I wanted to rate it 2.5 stars, because the side effects (mild aphasia) were quite annoying and seemed to stay overnight. Only to wear out at about the end of the morning.(next day).
Dosage & use; I capped one batch at 250mg. And another at 500mg. Maximum I could squeeze in a 00 cap, was around +/- 740mg. It's fairly decent in handling.
First tried 250mg. No real noticeable effect. Although for a moment I thought I noticed a spark of euphoria, but that was probably placebo effect.
Next 500mg. (Btw, all these findings have at least 24hrs in between them, and usually more then that. Otherwise I'll mention it). I noticed a mild anxiolitic effect. One side effect also reared it's head. Aside from the intended effect, I couldn't help but notice a very mild aphasia becoming present. Since I like to consider myself a fairly wellspoken person <cough> :). This was somewhat irritating. It wasn't severe, but present nonetheless. Particularly when speaking another language, words simply didn't come up as quick as usual. I did sleep on it fairly well. And next day all seemed well.
1g. Anxiolitic effect was definitely stronger. And I could even discern a mild euphoric feeling for moment. It didn't last long though. Anxiolitic effect seemed sustained for several hours however (+/- 4 ~ 5 [hard to estimate exact time ] ). Feeling was accompanied by mild tranquility. Unfortunately the aphasic side effect was also amplified somewhat. To the point where it became annoying. The next day unfortunately I could notice the aphasic side effect still being faintly present. Took about half the day to completely feel 'normal'.
1.25g (Highest dose I tried in one time). Same as 1g only somewhat amplified. No new effects observed. (Euphoric moment was slightly prolonged, together with the other observations). And unfortunately so was the side effect. Never to the point where it became noticeable by others. But it was definitely present. And it was quite annoying.
I've tried to combine it with Rhodiola, (max dose of 1.2g at once) this made no discernable differences for me. Also tried to spread phenibut intake in 2 or 3 times (x500mg). Aside from prolonging the effect(s), no particular differences.
On one occaision took 1g after enjoying a couple glasses of whine. Maybe the dose was a bit too low. Couldn't really discern much (extra) effect that particular time.
All in all,in conclusion I think it's a fair anxiolitic. And taken in large enough quantity has a very mild and not unpleasant 'buzz'. Downside is that it stays in you're system longer then might be anticipated. And ,at least for me, worst was the aphasic side effect. (Which was pronounced enough to stop me from using it for a while now)
Since I didn't see anyone else describe this particular side effect, it's more then likely just my personal reaction to the product.
Compared to what I've tried so far it cannot beat Tranxene which is almost without side effects (not withstanding habit forming on regular usage). But that requires a friendly doctor. ;)
On a side note, I've taken blood pressure measurements incidentally after use. the product didn't seem to affect them in any way.
