Ok, I bought this before knowing the density of the powder. How everyone that claims to take 5 grams of it twice a day, I'd like to know how exactly. I'm not saying it's impossible, but that is a crap load of powder!!! It takes nearly 1 1/2 TABLESPOONS to get 5 grams. And as others mentioned, it doesn't mix and tastes like crap if you put it right in your mouth. For those that can put an entire tablespoon in their mouth and swallow it down with water or something...WOW!!!! I would absolutely choke with that much powder. Doing that with creatine, or BCAAs and such I can understand, but you don't need 1 1/2 tablespoons of those to get 5 grams. With Leucine, you need at least that!!
I bought it with the intention of capping it, until I realized that even with the largest caps you can get (000), the most I could get in them was about 420mg per cap because the powder has such a low molecular mass. So, it would take roughly 12 caps to get one (5 gram) serving. This is a very low density powder, so getting the needed amount to make a difference is really hard to do. A scoop of Whey protein has about 2.5 grams of Leucine...I think that's a much less painful way of getting a higher amount of Leucine in your diet. Just my take on it. |
