Being 46 and having fibromyalgia since
I was 23, I'm certainly not a typical bodybuilder. To sleep and fight stiffness
I had to take low dose (1mg) lorazepam for 20 yrs, now I take Klonopin (0.5/day), Ambien (about 7.5/night)
and herbs+theanine to sleep, according
to a fibro protocol. So I am certainly tolerant to benzos, albeit the doses are not huge.
The first time I took 1 gr of phenibut at
10 p.m., and I did not feel anything.
Ten days after, being in bad need of recovery after an hard (for me) walk,
I tried again taking 1.2 gram at 9 p.m.
This time, to my surprise I felt something, a sort of relaxed drunkeness, then I went to sleep. My sleep is always awfully fragmented, but this time I could sleep better and longer (+1.5 hrs) using only half of the usual dose of zolpidem (Ambien). Now, the morning after, I feel that the halflife is somewhat longer than what was reported.
In conclusion phenibut definitely helped me a little to sleep better, which is a rather impossible task for any drug in me - especially considering that, being probably a Gaba-B agonist, it is not a
pure hypnotic. In this sense I feel it
superior to similar drugs, such as valerolactone, Gabitril and the infamous
Gabapentin that I used in a similar fashion.
As always with Gaba-B agonist,
I would suggest a spare use of this (no more than 3-4 dose/week).
Ah, yes, I am a doctor so I have
no problem in getting prescription drugs. |
