Glenn was at a dinner party one night about 25 years ago. He was ready to start his own business, he had come up with the idea of making a Sesame Cookie to start out with. He asked people at the party to help create a catchy name for his new product. Somebody said, “How about Nookie?”, and everyone at the table burst into laughter. Glenn had no idea what “Nookie” meant, and wanted to know what was so funny!
The next product Glenn “cooked up” was Glenny’s Brown Rice Treats. Glenn started the Rice Treats in Chinatown – he lugged 50 lb pails of syrup on the subway to make the first batch. And that was the beginning of Glenn Foods almost 25 years ago. It’s been one exciting product after another ever since! |
